Radical Truths - Week 8

Paul says "To live is Christ, to die is Gain." Do we believe that? Do we believing that dying is really our gain? Do we believe that the world to come for those who trust on Jesus will be infinitely greater than the American Dream offered here and now? If so, shouldn't that cause us to live differently now? To be people who are radically pursuing Christ to know him, look more like him and make him known? This weeks discussion was super challenging. I hope you are challenged and encouraged this week as you read along with us!

Radical Truths - Week 7

There is no plan B. There is no other way God has chosen to save people outside of his atoning work of his son Jesus on the cross. Additionally, there is no way people will know unless we go and tell them. This should stir in us an urgency to share the gospel! People are dying and heading to an eternity apart from God. Friends, family, co-workers, people around the world that have never heard of Jesus. Do you ever wrestle with this? Saying "Lord, I don't have that urgency. Sometimes, I don't even care to share." What is the remedy? The gospel. Remember who shared the faith with you. Remember who stepped out of their comfort zone to share Christ with you. Remember how you are an undeserving recipient of this marvelous grace! Shouldn't others know and experience this also? Share the gospel, though it may seem uncomfortable or inconvenient - through it you get to experience the intimacy and pleasures of obedience to Christ - for the good of others and the glory of God!

Radical Truths - Week 6

How much is enough? Talking about Gods grace, mercy, love... all things we don't have a problem with. Start talking about money? Everyone gets quite. "Don''t touch whats mine!" Is your money yours? Or your masters? What is it about "our" money that grips us so mightily? Jesus spoke about money/treasure OFTEN. He knew the power it has over people. Jesus tells us we can not serve two masters. We cannot live for God and live for money. Which one takes precedence in our heart? Which do we long for and run after with most fervor? How will we show the world that we value Christ above and beyond all other things? How will the world know who we live for and what our true treasure is? One of those ways is by the way we use what we have for the good of others and the glory of Christ - taking the abundance we have been blessed with and blessing others in need.

Radical Truths - Week 5

How do we become a multiplying community of people following Christ? Through intentional, life on life discipleship. Why? Because our model and savior, Jesus, dedicated his 3 years of ministry to a small group of 12 and did life with them daily. 11 of them went on to make disciples of the nations! Are you intentional about spending time in community, learning from other believers and discipling younger ones in the faith?

Radical Truths - Week 4

"God saves us so that we might make his ways, his salvation, his glory, and his greatness known among the nations." "Every saved person this side of heaven owes the gospel to every lost person this side of hell. " Are you on mission? are you concerned for Gods global purposes of making him known among the nations? If you are a believer in Jesus, you should be. When is the last time you were intentional about sharing the gospel with someone? Let us share! Not out of guilt, but out of the overflow of celebrating the work Christ has done! Remember what he has done for you, celebrate him by making him known among the nations.

Radical Truths - Week 3

Are we desperate for God's power, or do we trust in our own abilities? Because we often believe we are capable of accomplishing God's mission without him, we don't depend on him for only the power he can give. What areas of your life are you depending on your own strength instead of Gods? What did you guys get from the chapter?

Radical Truths - Week 2

Do we hunger for God and his word alone? Is it not relevant to us to the point that we ADD to the Gospel? These are the challenges presented to us this week by David Platt. The challenge is to continually fall in love with the Jesus of Scripture, continually!
